I didn't have a lot of time in Pagadian City as I was on my way into the bukid for a mountaineering trek with friends. But... There was no way I was going to miss out on experiencing their famous tricycles! Pagadian City is unique when it comes to roads! It is like the whole city is built on a hillside, as everywhere you look streets are slanted up and down. Like San Francisco except in the Philippines :) Now everywhere you go in the Philippines there are "Tricycles" ready to drive you around. But here in Pagadian they take it to the next level with "Slanted Tricycles!" Grabe they are unique! You squeeze into the front and next thing you know... You could be looking up at the sky as you cruise up a massive hill! Pero! They make sense! The slanted seats adjust to the hills and when t...

This will be a documentary on my travel from Memphis to General Santos City in the Philippines. This will be about a 40-42 hour trip total with about 21-hours total in the air. Everything started out good, my drive to the Memphis airport was smooth and the traffic in Memphis was surprisingly light. It's about an hour and a half drive to the airport from my house. I usually leave my truck there in the economy parking which costs about $6 per day. I could not get my none-stop flight straight to Los Angeles like I normally would. We had a stopover in Houston. The flight was a little bumpy coming in to Houston. I had a 3-hour layover and then onward to LA. The only real issue I had was that my FB Messenger quit working as this was the only way for me to communicate with Sha at the time. Luckil...
So many people when they hear the word "Mindanao" are prone to talking about danger, "bad people" and conflict. It is moments like this that inspire me, and moments like this that encourage me to continue sharing the beauty of this part of the Philippines. I had 11 amazing young foreign friends come visit my home "Region 10" for a few days. I took them on a journey around my hometown Cagayan de Oro, and to the province of Bukidnon which is just nearby! This Video is a prime example of what it is like travelling around Northern Mindano…. Except there is a little bit of added extras as I tried to convince my friends to do a few Filipino things… such as Videoke, eating balut, and riding around in Motorelas (or in this case singing in one). Of course we had lot of "Tagay" and my friend...

I and my friends had our first roadtrip together last July 9-15, 2016. I and Jurfaida took the flight from Tawi-Tawi to Zamboanga City, then from Zamboanga City to Davao City to meet Honyn. From Davao City, our roadtrip commenced. The route was Davao-Bukidnon-Cagayan de Oro-Iligan- Lanao del Sur-Cotabato City-Maguindanao-Lake Sebu-General Santos. Some of the places we went to doesn't have a footage. All of the videos were taken using Samsung Galaxy S7 and edited using iMovie. A big thank you to Nikolai Heidlas for the background songs.
